EVE on linux is going to be fantastic (once I get it working) I do have a lockup that happens within a few seconds of running the script. I am on a fresh ubuntu 16.04 install and ran the launcher. The system locks up and sometimes I can switch out of X and into a console. However, even then the system fully locks up within seconds and I cannot switch to another console. I could only REISUB. I'll just post this here in case it helps. I am now having an issue where the launcher downloads everything just fine. I am able to log in, but when I try to actually launch the game, it never launches. So try apt-get install wine, then run the launcher again. I did that and now it is working flawlessly Thank you!!!
